The Ocean Rise series was created during a residency at SPACER where Aphra Shemza upscaled her plastic recycling process by purchasing two new machines from the Precious Plastics family.

Her new Ocean Rise series takes the recycling process one step further. Not only is the artist saving this waste material that would otherwise be destined for the ocean, but she is also creating new artworks that visualise the rising sea levels due to global warming, highlighting the interconnectivity between these different systems.
